What are Apricot Kernels?
They are the seeds contained inside the husk of the fruit, much like a nut they are one of the healthiest foods on earth and one of the richest sources of Vitamin B17.
What is the point of including them in my diet?
Tribes such as the Hunzas, Hopi Indians and the Karakorum live on a traditional diet rich in B17 and do not suffer from the most common western diseases.
How many should I consume?
Well, based on 30 years of documented research and use, eating between 6-10 Apricot Kernels per day is the usual suggestion.
However the Food Standards Agency (FSA) recommend a consumption of no more than 2 Kernels per day.
How can I include them in my diet?
Apricot kernels should not be swallowed whole, they should be thoroughly chewed, or ground and sprinkled on food or in fruit juice. Apricot Kernels containing high levels of B17 such as the ones that we supply, are bitter, by mixing in Juices such as Apple and Peach the bitterness can be masked.
How else can they be used?
They make a great addition to the Taste of muesli, or when mixed with wholegrain oats and honey to make a Porridge that tastes of Marzipan or can be blended into a smoothie.
